An Overview

General Information About Sikandara Tomb At Agra India Sikandara is place near Agra which dates back to Lodi period in Indian history. Akbar who spent most of his life at Agra and Fatehpur sikri which is alos near Agra was burried at this place. Architecture of tomb was planned by Akbar himself and construction begun during his reign. It was completed during the rule of his son and successor Jahangir.

Sikandra lies right on the main Delhi Agra highway so the place can be visited while coming from or going to Delhi without any extra travel thus saving lot of time and energy. The building shows ammalgamation of various styles of contemporary architectures and building material which was mostly locally available. Sandstone was mostly used material with use of white marble for exterior decorations and finishings
