Most interesting fact about traditional clothings in India is that, it is the society which decides what clothes a person will put on. Various determining factors are caste, region and occasion. Social biodata of a person can be determined by his costumes and also if he is attending any particular occasion like marriage or condolence. Turban is the most important part of Indian clothing specially western India, which is considered an honourable thing. The colour and tying pattern can determine caste and region of a person.
Like men, women also have their traditional clothings which is governed by caste to which they belong. Saree in different form is the main attire of Indian women. Covering head with saree is considered moral act. In western India specially Rajasthan the Purda (veil) system is widely prevalent during present times. Women keep their face covered with part of the saree, the system is said be introduced in India after Muslim invasion.
