Glorious History of rambagh Palace
Built in 1835 on a modest scale for the queen’s favorite handmaiden Kesar Badaran, it was later refurbished as a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge. In 1925, Rambagh was converted into a palace, and became the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The 'Jewel of Jaipur' as it is fondly called, remained the home of the Jaipur royal family until 1957, when it was first converted into a luxury hotel by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. The hotel was included among Taj palaces in 1972.
Rooms and Suites
Rambagh Palace offers 79 rooms including aesthetically restored suites, which were the chambers of the former Maharaja. All the rooms are beautifully restored preserving the royal essence and theme for which the palace was originally known. Different category of the rooms include Palace rooms, Historical suites, Royal Suites. Grand Royal Suites are further classified into Maharani suite and Princess suites. The highest category of rooms at Taj rambagh palace are Presidential suites named Suryavanshi suites and Sukh Niwas. Besides all basic amenities every room is equipped with large plasma TVs’ in-room safe, tea/coffee maker and mini bar.
Events and Meetings at Rambagh Palace
The hotel is an ideal destination for meetings in historical surroundings, Rambagh Palace offers banquet facilities for smaller meetings of around 50 participants within the Palace building and 350 – 600 delegates at the adjacent SMS Function Center.
