The palace was the residence of the late general Maharaj Ajit Singh ji younger brother of His highness Umaid Singh of Jodhpur who built Umaid Bhawan Palace and Ajit Bhawan is located close to Umaid Bhawan which is central to almost every point in Jodhpur.
