Once a game conserve of royal families Ranthambore National Park is best place to spot Indian Tiger. Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve lies on the junction of Aravali and Vindhyas about 180 km from Jaipur in Eastern Rajasthan. The scenery changes dramatically from gentle and steep slopes of the Vindhyas to the sharp and conical hills of the Aravali. Three big lakes – Padam Talab (village pond or lake), Malik Talab and Raj Bagh are house of various aquatic species of flora and fauna.
A significant topographical feature within the park is the 'Great Boundary Fault' at the meeting of Vindhayan plateau with the Aravali range. Ranthambore reserve is bounded by chambal on the south and Banas on the north. The park is dotted with steep rocky hills and the dominating architecture of Ranthambhor Fort (built in the 10th century), adds to its landscape. The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambhor. A variety of birds including owlets, the ubiquitous langur (monkey), leopard, caracal, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, marsh crocodiles, wild boar, bears and various species of deer are the other attractions.
It is advised to book your park safari well in advance, as the enrty to the national park is strictly limited. Contact our tour planner for Ranthambore safari as well as hotel booking.
